DAY 25 - PATTAYA FLOATING MARKET

Today we took in the Four Regions Floating Market - one of Pattaya's top tourist attractions, built on a 27 acre piece of land.  The wooden buildings have been built in the different styles of the four regions of Thailand and are connected by bridges and walkways.  The idea is to give the tourists a sense of what it might be like to shop at the authentic floating markets in Thailand.  Long tail boats are available for hire if you really want the full experience.  Catering to tourists, there are over 100 shops here selling souvenir type goods as well as traditional Thai snacks and treats.  The long tail boats tied up along the walkways were selling things like alligator, sausage and many types of fried seafood.  Cooking - whether barbecueing or frying in hot oil - is done right on the boat!
